Naples based custom A/V company looks back on first three years and forward to the future
Synergy- Custom Technology Solutions, the fastest growing custom audio/video company in Southwest Florida, is celebrating its third anniversary. Founders, Aaron Howell and Jeremy Rearden, started Synergy CTS just three years ago relying upon relationships each had established over the previous 15 years or more in the industry. In under three years, they exceeded their five-year business plan, now employing 13 people, acquired dealerships with the top vendors in their industry, opened a branch office in Ocala,FL, and have strong visions for the company’s future.
Synergy CTS is a high end, residential and commercial low voltage company, specializing in custom audio, video, lighting, automation, design, and more. In less than three years, the organization has secured dealerships with the nation’s leading companies in their field, including Crestron, Savant, Lutron, Control 4, Sony, and more. The in-house, custom design and programming team truly sets itself apart from other A/V companies. “We pride ourselves on our ability to digitally draw wiring diagrams of our lighting control, A/V panels and wires, networking, wifi, and more. All of this is done in house. While many audio/video companies subcontract programmers, our programs are completed and tested in our offices”, stated Jeremy Rearden, founder and Chief Technology Officer. Building component racks and programming in the office allows their technicians to spend minimal time in the client’s home.
Aaron Howell, Chief Executive Officer, met Rearden nearly 15 years ago when Howell first moved to Southwest Florida. Synergy CTS grew out of a common interest in technology and a common pursuit of creating a better experience and service for their clients. “I took the role of CEO earlier this year because I want to develop the best product for our clients and work to create a strong company for our community”, states Howell. His experience in computers and IT and his understanding of the audio/video industry have allowed him to create a solid networking product that his clients can rely upon, and Synergy CTS has become known for. Howell is a visionary, who does not simply think of big ideas, but implements them as well.
To ensure the lasting success of their client’s systems, Howell created a service division called Last Mile™. This allows their team members to monitor their client’s systems and be proactive in solving issues that may arise due to power, internet outages, or even component failure. A graduate of Lely High School, Jeremy Rearden is known for his integrity and creativity to give his clients the system they not only need, but the one they want as well. The 18-year industry veteran has worked with some of Florida’s top builders and clients. He earned his state of Florida, Low Voltage Alarm I license several years before founding Synergy CTS. “I love technology. It is always changing which means we must stay on our toes and not just adapt, but be ahead of the curve. Several years ago, I saw where the industry was heading and began talking with Aaron about how we can be different from other AV companies who would be chasing the technology, rather than creating it”, said Rearden. The duo have made a name for themselves as innovators in their field.
Aaron and Jeremy, along with their staff of strong leaders and innovators, have created some of most intuitive and unique products in the area. “We just completed the ultimate ‘man cave’, with a 9 screen Planar video wall, a Seura two-way mirror which is hiding two 55” tvs, full audio, video, lighting, and shade control, as well as a specialized and interactive security system. Our team did an excellent job coordinating with one another as well as the architect and interior designers working on the project. We are proud of the final product, and even more importantly, our client loves it too.” said Rearden.
